It is with heavy hearts that the Wheeler Family announce the passing of Alonzo Guy Wheeler at Notre Dame Bay Memorial Hospital on September 24,2025, after a short illness. Alonzo was 84 years old and resided in Summerford, NL with his wife of 60 years, Judy Laura Wheeler (nee Gates). He was a deeply loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and trusted friend to many. His friendly demeaner, kindness and faith resonated with all who knew him. Together they raised 6 children, Dean, Doann, Dana, Dwayne, Darren and Dayle, just steps away from his own childhood home.
Alonzo devoted his life to his family and to his friends. He spent his life helping others in every way he could, regardless of who they were or what they did. He spent 30 years of his life working at the Twillingate fish plant and was locally known as the furnace and plumbing man. He took great pride in pointing out homes he had worked on.
