Alvina Boyde

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alvina Boyde (nee Purchase), age 69 years, of Gander, NL announce her passing at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander, NL on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Alvina was born to Ralph & Marion Purchase on June 20, 1956. The 5 child born of 12 children. She met Claude Boyde the love of her life in 1974. Alvina & Claude married on August 6, 1976 and they spent 51 years together as a family. She loved to bake, cook and entertain her family and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents Ralph & Marion, sisters Eleanor, Velma, brothers Alex, Lester, Thomas (Dorothy), in-laws Roland (Bernice) Boyde, Kay (Milton) Leyte and Melvin Boyde.

She is loving remembered by her devoted husband Claude, brother Arch (Debbie), sisters Regina (Norman), Doris (Ivan), Ruth (Wayne), Gladys, Clara, sisters-in-law Maggie, Laura, as well as countless in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends.

Resting at the Salvation Army Citadel, Horwood, NL with public visitation on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. 

Donations in Alvina's memory may be given to her family.
