Barry was born to Fred and Netta Hurley in Too Good Arm on April 20, 1948. Over the years he lived in Too Good Arm, Herring Neck and Toronto before finally settling back in Herring Neck after he met the love of his life, Audrey in 1976. Barry was loved by all who met him, and had the ability to make everyone feel important and special. Him and Audrey loved spending time outside, including skidooing, quadding, snowshoeing, spending time at their cabin and having boil ups in the woods. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing in church and with his friends on many different occasions. He loved life and spent every day living it to the fullest.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Valerie Kingsbury and New World Island Funeral Home for their professional guidance and support during this difficult time, as well as special niece Wanda who spent countless hours with us before and during Barry's passing. In addition, the family would also like to thank the nurses at Notre Dame Bay memorial Health Centre for all the care and compassion during the past week, as well as the wonderful nurses at the Cancer Clinic in Gander ("The Girls") for their exceptional care and compassion over the last two years.
