Breta Jennings Obituary

Breta Elizabeth Jennings was born to Albert & Mary Baker on July 18, 1928 on Sampson's Island, Notre Dame Bay, NL. In 1946 she married the love of her life Melvin Jennings of Bridgeport, NL. They were blessed with one daughter Madeline and two sons Ron & Wade.

Breta passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander, NL, on Thursday, February 3, 2022. She leaves to mourn her children Madeline (Clayton), Ron (Violet), Wade (Bessie), grandchildren Faron, Lee, Craig (Erica), Kirk (Rhonda), Shawn (Shantelle), Terry, Wade (Terri-Lynn), great-grandchildren Thomas (Melissa), Mason (Eva), Kaitlyn, Ronald, Brianna, Megan, great-great-grandchildren Wyatt, Matthew, Taya, sister Madeline (Walter) and a number of nieces & nephews as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband Melvin, parents Albert & Mary, brothers Wilbert, Nelson, Woodrow, sisters Emily Canning, Olive Perry, Gladys Jenkins and Jean Hynes.

Resting at New World Island Funeral Home, Summerford, NL. Public visitation will take place on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. Following the covid-19 restrictions vaccine passports will be required. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

Donations in Breta's memory may be given to the Clarence Wiseman Central Corps. Moreton's Hr., NL

Breta lived at Pleasantview Manor, Lewisporte, NL for the last three years of her life and we would like to thank the management and staff of the home for all the care you gave her while there.
