Constance Jenkins Obituary

Passed peacefully away, Constance Marie Jenkins, age 82 years at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander on Friday, November 22, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Predeceased by husband James, two precious children Cathy & Steven, parents Frederick & Mariah Luff, brothers Ben Luff, Harry Luff, Lloyd Luff, Harrison Luff, Cecil Luff, parents-in-law Garland & Maggie Jenkins, brothers & sisters-in-law Ted (Myrtle) Jenkins, Benson (Linda), Roy Jenkins, Myrtle (Harrison) Locke, Hazel (Sidney) Gates, David Freake, Ewan Canning, niece Daphne Locke & nephew Matthew Noble.

Left with fond and loving memories are sons Derrick (Maxine) Luff, Allister (Irene), daughter Dianne (Kevin) Hynes, granddaughter Chantal Hynes, brother Edward (Maxine) Luff, two special girls Haylen King, Alicia Colbourne, sisters-in-law Vera Luff, Levinia Freake, Georgina (Junior) Philpott, Dolly (Jim) Butt, also a large number of family and friends.

Constance was born October 27, 1942 to Frederick & Mariah Luff. They resided on Exploit’s Island, later moving to Phillip’s Head during the 1960’s. Later she married James Jenkins, together raising three children Cathy, Dianne & Allister.

Constance worked at the local fish plant as well as a homecare worker, which she enjoyed so much. Later in life she enjoyed, looking forward to spending summer months at their trailer in Phillip’s Head, where she had many laughs with family and friends.

She was a faithful member of the New World Island West Salvation Army Corps, Summerford where she was a member of the Home League, also having a talent to play the kettle drum.

She will be forever missed and loved by family & friends.

Special thanks to the staff of Pleasantview Manor for their loving care, as well as the doctors and nurses of the James Paton Memorial Health Centre.

Resting at New World Island Funeral Home with public visitation on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from the New World Island West Corps., Summerford on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Major Donna Anstey officiating.

Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Constance's memory may be given to the Canadian Lung Association.
