Edgar Saunders

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Edgar Saunders.

Edgar leaves to mourn with such an unbearable loss and heavy hearts, but with so many happy memories, his loving wife of nearly 48 years Sheila (nee Burt).  A proud and dedicated father, he will be dearly missed by his children; Wallace (Shelley), Serena (Lloyd), Nena (Tim), and David (Mallory). As well as his beautiful canine companions in his life;  Willie, Topaz, Zenia, Agape, and Flint.  Edgar was the best Poppy around, and his memory will be cherished forever by grandchildren Austin (Laura),  Haley, Dylan, Claudia, Leo and Serena.  Poppy Saunders is so loved.

Also grieving with a lifetime of memories are his siblings;
Joyce, San (Eliza), Melvin (Carol), Lizzy.  Brother and sister in-laws, and special friends.
Predeceased by mother: Clara, father: George, stepdad: Stewart; brothers: Fred, Havner & Roy; sisters Velma; Becky; Keziah; Ellen; Bessie & Vera.

Edgar was well known for his commitment to his family, his work ethic, determination, and his willingness to help.  He spent many a days beach combing, going in the woods, and berry picking.  He loved to share his finds with his friends and family. 
 Just one example of his giving and kind nature.  A true gentleman, he was decent, patient, and considerate to all he met.  
He would never hesitate to help anyone in need.  

To know him was to love him.  No words could ever fully express the depth of our grief.  While we are heartbroken to have lost Edgar, we find comfort in the many loving memories he has left with us.

Funeral service will take place on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Zion Pentecostal Church, Moreton's Hr., NL with Pastor K. Barton officiating.
