Eileen Pelley

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Eileen Pelley on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, Twillingate, with her family by her side.

Eileen was born January 18, 1940 in Summerford to Isaac and Annie Jenkins. On May 27, 1959 she married the love of her life, Lewis Pelley. A few years later they decided to help her sister in the raising of Mabel. Then later they had Ricky and Keith.

She is predeceased by her husband Lewis, parents Isaac and Annie, brother David Jenkins, grandson Clarence Rowsell and a large number of brothers and sisters-in-law.

She leaves to mourn children Ricky (Kathleen), Keith (Denise), Mabel (Edward), grandchildren Dylan (Faith), Aveileen, Chael , Justin, Jenilee (Devon), great-granddaughter Emma, siblings Louise, Stanley (Ruby), Edmund (Barbara), Guy (Judy), Joan (Robert), sister-in-law Ruby Jenkins, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Eileen was a loving wife and mother, who took pride in her home where she loved to cook and bake. Sometimes just to give it away because that’s who she was. She volunteered with the firettes for years as well with the town with many functions, helping in the kitchen. Also, she was a faithful member of the Summerford Pentecostal Church.

Resting at the Summerford Pentecostal Church with public visitation on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from the church on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Shawn Holmes officiating.

Donations in Eileen’s memory may be given to the Alzheimer’s Society.
