It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ella Madeline Strong age 71 years of Change Islands, NL announce her peaceful passing into the presence of the Lord at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander, NL on Saturday, July 17, 2021.
She is predeceased by her mother Maisie Stuckey and her foster parents Dorman & Stella Brinson. They welcomed her into their home when she was only 3 months old and raised her.
Leaving to mourn her husband Willis of 51 years, sons Marshall & Michael, sisters Maisie, Daphne (Harvey), Joyce (Max), brother Seymour (Judy), sisters-in-law Eileen, Doris, Phyllis (Francis), Gladys (George), Alice (Brian), Frances (David). As well as a large number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Ella lived a devoted life to her family and friends. She was happiest when her kitchen was full of people, food and laughter. For many years she enjoyed church, Home League, Red Cross & was faithful until health issues prevented her from attending. Her presence will be missed by all who knew her.
Public visitation will take place at the Salvation Army Church, Change Islands on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. by invitation only due to Covid-19 restrictions.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army Church, Change Islands will be gratefully accepted.
