Elsie Rice

After a short illness the family of the late Elsie Rice, age 78 years, of Newville regret to announce her passing at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, Twillingate on Wednesday evening February 8, 2017.

Elsie is predeceased by her first husband, Joe Gillard, parents Arthur & Susie Burt, sisters Ida, Kathleen, Maxine, brothers Bill & Daxter, granddaughter Melissa and brother-in-law Lindsay Rice.

Left with broken hearts but wonderful memories are her husband David, children Marina (Gary Francis), Clarke's Head, NL, Ida (Eric Burt), Black Falls, AB, Garry, George's Point, NL, Dave, Cobb's Arm, NL, Rick (Helen), Virgin Arm, NL, Edith (Wade Hillier), Cobb's Arm, NL, Kim (Shawn Watkins), Summerford, NL, Ryan (Christine), Herring Neck, NL, step-son Jeff Rice, Newville, NL, thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.  

Also left to mourn her passing are her siblings Wallace (Bernice) Burt, Virgin Arm, NL, Stanley (Mildred) Burt, Virgin Arm, NL, Walter (Myrtle) Burt, Parkview, NL, Dax (Liz) Burt, Virgin Arm, NL, Mervin (Pat) Burt, Cobb's Arm, NL, Geraldine (Chesley Boyd), Sandy Point, NL, Christine (Steve Greenham), Parkview, NL, sister-in-law Helen Greenham, Bayview, NL, as well as a large number of extended family and friends.

Family viewing only will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral service will take place from Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, Carter's Cove on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Danny Boyd and her nephew Pastor Alvin Burt officiating.

Flowers will be gratefully accepted.
