Emily Jones

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Emily Jones of Bridgeport, age 84 years, announce her passing at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre on  Wednesday, December 17, 2025.  She was born on May 17, 1941 in Independant, Labrador. Emily came to Newfoundland in 1960 and married her lifelong companion Leonard Jones and had 3 children.

She is predeceased by her parents Robert and Maude Mesher, husband Leonard, granddaughter Desiree, her brothers and sister Francis.

Left with fond and loving memories are her children Brian (Joan), Nathaleen (Craig), Jackie (Lorne), her grandchildren Quentin , Tyrone , Justin, Dillon, great-granddaughter Charlotte, cousin Wayne as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

A heartfelt thank you to Pleasantview Manor of Lewisporte who cared for Mom for many years and she made that place her home. Your love and commitment to giving her the best care is so appreciated. And a huge thank you to Notre Dame Bay Memorial Hospital for their kindness and compassion…it will never be forgotten. 

Donations in Emily’s memory can be made to Bridgeport Cemetery.

Resting at the Clarence Wiseman Central Corps, Moreton’s Harbour with public visitation on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
