George Holwell

It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Holwell announce his passing on September 29, 2024 at North Haven Manor in Lewisporte at the age of 87.

George is predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Stella Holwell; his wife Bernice; great-grandchildren Jonah and Theo; brother-in-law Lloyd Richmond; sister-in-law Shirley Holwell.

George leaves with fond and loving memories his children David (Loretta), Juanita (Freeman) Holloway, Max (Barbara), Marlene (Jay) Steiner, Dwayne (Sandra); grandchildren Angie (Guy), Mark (Raye), Paul, Matthew (Maricris), Philip (Stephanie), Brent (Francesca), Zachary (Kelsey), Chad, Zoe (Andrew), Jake, Ben; great-grandchildren Rachel, Brooke (Brayden), Kaitlyn, Allen, Lucas, Natalie, Maylee, Kali, Aurora, Stella; brothers Winston, Owen (Glenys); brother-in-law Earl (Barbara) as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Resting at New World Island Funeral Home, Summerford. Public visitation will be on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Herring Neck on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank the staff of North Haven Manor, Brookfield Health Centre, James Peyton Memorial Health Centre and Kingsway Living in Lewisporte who took care of George as if he was one of their family. He certainly enjoyed joking and carrying on with them.
