Geraldine Rideout

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Geraldine Rideout formerly of Carter’s Cove, announce her passing at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, Twillingate on Friday, July 17, 2026.

She is predeceased by her parents Melvin & Eva Burt; brothers Edgar (Marjorie), Wycliffe; brothers-in-law Sandy (Phoebe) Rideout, Raymond (Bessie) Rideout and Donald (Harriett) Rideout.

Left with fond and loving memories are her husband Alonzo; son Darren; grandchildren Kayla, Hayley, Nathan; brother-in-law Ronald (Lisa); special nieces Kathy Porter-Gidge, Linda England; special friends Clarice Mills, Robena Jennings, Loretta Gilroy, Penney Coish, Janice Richards, Viola Eveleigh, Venus Luff, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

Geraldine was born and raised in Carter’s Cove until the age of 20. On December 18, 1964 she married the love of her life, Alonzo. In September 1965 they decided to leave their home and move to Ontario to start new careers.

After 60 successful years they moved back to Newfoundland settling in Summerford.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Geraldine’s memory may be given to her family.

Resting at Zion Pentecostal Church, Moreton’s Harbour where public visitation will take place on Sunday, July 19, 2026 from 7-9 P.M. Funeral service will held at the church on Monday, July 20, 2026 with Pastor W. Newman officiating.
