Hector Rideout

Hector Stanley Rideout, passed peacefully away, in the presence of family, at the North Haven Manor, Lewisporte, NL on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the age of 86 years. 

Hector was born in Whales Gulch (now Valley Pond), NL, the only son to Redvers and Daisy Rideout, on August 18, 1938. In 1966, he met and married the love of his life Ada (nee Jennings). Together they shared 58 wonderful years devoted to one another, even when Hector's health required that they live apart for more than the last 2 years. Hector and Ada raised two boys, Craig and Jamie, and were blessed with 3 grandsons and 2 great grandchildren.  

Hector was predeceased by his parents, mother and father-in-law Flora and Andrew Jennings, his two sisters Clementine and Grace, grandson Lawrence Rideout, brothers-in-law Gerald and Allan Jennings.

Leaving to mourn are his loving wife Ada, sons Craig and Jamie, grandsons Steven, Cody (Lydia), great-grandchildren Ellie and Emerson, brothers-in-law Leslie (Nellie), Herman (Joan), Fred (Alayne), sisters-in-law Thelma and Gwen, extended family and friends. 

Resting at the Clarence Wiseman Central Corps., Moreton’s Hr., NL with public visitation on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. Funeral service will take place from the church on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. 

Donations in Hector’s memory may be given to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, Moreton’s Hr., NL.

Hector was a good man; intelligent, witty, devoted and kind. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed dearly by the ones he leaves behind.
