Lester "Dick" Purchase

It is with broken hearts the family of the late Lester "Dick" Purchase, age 70 years, of Horwood, NL announce his passing at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander, NL on Monday, November 4, 2024.

He is predeceased by his parents Ralph & Marion, brothers Thomas (Dorothy), Alex, sisters Eleanor, Velma and parents-in-law George & Janet Freake.

Left with fond and loving memories are his wife of 47 years Margaret (Maggie), sons Jeffery, John (Jennifer), Joey (Patsy), grandsons Devon, Jack, Noah, Joshua, James, siblings Regina (Norm), Alvina (Claude), Arch (Debbie), Ruth (Wayne), Doris (Ivan), Gladys, Clara as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Resting at the Salvation Army Citadel, Horwood, NL with public visitation on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from the church on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.

Donations in Lester's memory may be given to the Pentecostal Cemetery Fund, Horwood, NL.

Lester was a man that loved his family and his community. He was a good man at hunting, fishing and cutting wood in his younger years. Raised 3 sons together with his wife Margaret. For 22 years was a volunteer fire chief, raising money and doing service for his community and the people within his hometown. Lester will be forever loved and missed.
