It is with great sadness that the family of the late Norman “Junior” Jenkins, age 80 Years of Glovertown, NL, formerly of Tizzard’s Harbour, NL, announce his passing at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander, NL.
He is predeceased by his parents Stanley & Dorothy, brother Allister, baby sister Loretta, brohers-in-law Wallace Snow, Leo Boyd, Gilbert Boyd & Ross Rogers.
Left with fond and loving memories are his partner Joy Lander, son Shawn, Grandsons Cade, Colby, Carter, great-grandson Elliott, siblings Una Boyd, Roger (Joan), Douglas, Harry (Josephine), Maisie (Obediah), Ronald (Vera), Phyllis, Elaine (Charles), Gertrude, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
Funeral service will take on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from the United Church, Tizzard’s Harbour, NL with Majors Barry & Donna Anstey officiating.
Norman "Junior" Lloyd Jenkins was born to Stanley & Dorothy Jenkins on July 5, 1944. Of a family of 12 he was the forth child. Junior had a variety of jobs during his lifetime, as a young man he fished on the Labrador as a shareman, a miner in Buchans, a cook while they were building the Curtis Causeway, spent several years in Ontario as a truck driver. Upon retirement he moved back to Newfoundland where he built a house on the land he grew up on in Tizzard's Harbour. He met a wonderful lady named Joy and moved to Glovertown where they enjoyed life together.
