Overton Rideout

It is with deep appreciation for a true gift from God that the family of Overton Chesley Rideout, announce his home-going—Wednesday December 18, 2019. Overton was kindness, meekness, and benevolence (and perfectionist) personified. Kathleen and the family highly esteemed their husband, dad and granddad. Until they meet again, they will treasure in their hearts every minute they shared. Overton devoted his life to loving God, his wife, and his family. He lived every day of his 82 years to the fullest, in particular every hour he spent around the meal-table with his family.

Overton is predeceased by his Parents; Hedley & Della, brothers; Leslie, Clarence, Wycliffe, & Sister Shirley; brother-in-law’s – Robert, Wallace & Calvin; Sister-in-law’s – Amelia & Beverley; as well as seven siblings who died under the age of five.

Left with a life of precious memories are his wife of 58 years, Kathleen; daughters - Gloria (Baxter), Roxann (Tony), Dolores (Alan), Jenice (Alan), Betsey (Derman); Sons – Edwin (Rhoda), Clyde (Susan), Ross (Jennifer), Sterling (Tiffany); Grandchildren – Jonathan (Nicki), Shane (Aimee), Amanda (Leroy), Matthew (Carla), Brandon, Joshua, Courtney, CJ, Maddy, Montanna (Caleb), Zackery, Mitchell (Crystal), Kathleen, Melanie, Logan, Andrew & Shyhiem. Great-grandchildren; Hailey, Abigail, Noah, Ryder, Liam, Taylor, Silas, Jaxson; Sister – Bernice; Sister-in-law’s – Fronie & Margaret; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

Resting at the New World Island Funeral Home with public visitation on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 7-9 p.m. as well as Friday, December 20, 2019 from 2-4 p.m.  Funeral service will take place from Salem Pentecostal Church, Cottlesville on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Harold G. Luff officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Overton's memory may be given to ‘International Fellowship of Christians and Jews’ (www.ifcj.ca).
