Overton Squires

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Overton Squires, age 89 years, of Wing’s Point, NL announce his passing at James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander, NL on Friday, July 4, 2025.

He is predeceased by his parents Chesley & Blanche, daughter Linda, sister Marjorie (Malcolm) and brother-in-law Ben.

Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Bonnie, children Myrtle (Lester), Juanita (Wade), Virginia (Edward), Fabian (Terri), Jeanie (Shawn), Betty (Spencer), Angela (Bob), Leanne, son-in-law Roy, grandchildren Dennis (Jenny), David (Sharon), Darrell (Trina), Grant (Karen), Ashley (Jon), Megan (Ankit), Jessica (Sheldon), Mackenzie (Brenda), Haley (Dominic), Hannah (Ian), great-grandchildren Jaylin, Jenna, Sophie, Evan, Nadja (Tyrone), Leila, Liam, great-great-grandson Daxton, siblings Phyllis (Terry), Milton (Janet), Eileen (Gilmore), Bruce (Carol), Gordon (Blanche) as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Resting at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Wing's Point, NL with public visitation on Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. As well as Monday, July 7, 2025 from 10-2 p.m. Funeral service will take place from the church at 3:00 p.m. with Rev S. Mills officiating. 

Donations in Overton’s memory may be given to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Wing’s Point, NL.

The Squires family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander, NL, home support worker Robin for their care and compassion. As well as regular visits from their family & friends.
