Pearce Anstey

Pearce Anstey, Cottlesville, NL.

(February 2, 1927 – August 1, 2021).

It is with heavy hearts, but eternal hope, that we announce the death of our gentle, kind and affectionate husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Pearce Anstey.

Pearce was born on February 2, 1927 at Cottlesville, NL, and he ascended to a new beginning on August 1, 2021, at North Haven Manor, Lewisporte, NL.  He had reached the ripe age of 94 years.

Surviving Pearce is his wife of 68 years, Agnes Elizabeth Anstey (nee Perry); and his fourteen children: Milton (Glenda), Dawson (Peggy), Josie (Rex), Glen (Loretta), Angus (Margaret), Newman, David, Una (Wayne), Colleen (Terry), Kent (Carol-Ann), Dale (Rod), Nola (Sheldon), Connie (Ken), and Clive (Marilee).

His parents, Arthur Anstey and Bessie Moores predeceased him.  He was also predeceased by his siblings: Evelyn, Georgina, Norman, Frank, Hubert, Myrtle, Wilbert, Edgar, Margaret, and Melita.  Otto and Nelson are his two surviving siblings.

Also left with fond and loving memories are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as a large complement of extended family and friends.

Public visitation will take place at the New World Island Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, from 7–9 p.m.

Funeral service will commence on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Salem Pentecostal Church, Cottlesville, with Pastor H. Luff officiating.  Interment will follow at Salem Pentecostal Church Cemetery, Cottlesville.

In consideration of Pearce’s life-long commitment to his church and community, the family is requesting that donations, in lieu of flowers, be made to assist in the upkeep and maintenance of Salem Pentecostal Church Cemetery at Cottlesville, NL.

An expression of appreciation is extended to the management and staff at North Haven Manor, Lewisporte, NL, for the care and compassion that they provided to Pearce in his twilight years.
