Ronald Compton

It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Ronald Compton, age 73 years, of Summerford, NL announce his passing at the Health Science Centre, St. John's, NL on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

He is predeceased by his parents Hardy & Nellie, sister Myra, brother Oswald, parents-in-law Selby & Olive Verge and brother-in-law Irvin Verge.

Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Joyce, children Melissa (Jeff), Rodney (Nancy), grandchildren Ashlyn (Wayne), Cory (Courtney), great-granddaughter  Abigal, siblings Bertha (Alonzo), Vera, Dorothy, Lensey (Ivy) and Wilbert as well as a number of extended family, nieces, nephews and friends.

Ron met his loving wife Joyce in Summerford in 1971, on February 15, 1974 they were married and together they raised 2 children Melissa & Rodney. Ron worked hard all his life, starting from in the woods, to many years with Ultramar driving the oil truck. Finishing up in Labrador working on the highway. Ron loved hunting, fishing, spending time in the woods but most of all he loved spending time with his family & friends. He especially looked forward to the summer when his son Rodney, wife Nancy and his grandchildren would visit from Ontario. He enjoyed every moment showing his grandchildren all the Newfoundland roots.

Resting at Summerford Pentecostal Church with public visitation on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 7-9 p.m. as well as Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from  7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from the church on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor H. Troake officiating.
