Trudy Rideout Obituary

It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Trudy Rideout, age 59 years, of Toronto, ON, formerly of Valley Pond, NL. Announce her sudden passing at her residence on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 with her common law husband Hugh, her best friend Trevor and her two sisters Jacqueline & Bonny by her side.

She is predeceased by her dad, Everett Rideout, grandparents Arthur & Rossie Jennings, Frederick & Madora Rideout and her very best & closest friend Carol B.

Trudy was a nurse for 30 years, although she lived in Toronto for most of her life, her heart was always in NL. After retirement she started her own company ( Downhome Daisy's). She enjoyed walking, working in her gardens, giving so much time to her flowers, she also loved yard sales, backyard fires and reading books while relaxing in her swing. She looked forward to her yearly visits to NL. Anyone who knew Trudy, knew that she had a big heart, she was very kind & giving. Always thought of others and whoever came to visit always left with a container of food & a goody bag.

Trudy fought and struggled to beat a very aggressive breast cancer, but lost her battle after 13 short months.

Leaving to mourn with broken hearts are her lifetime common law husband Hugh Dufour, Toronto, her precious mom Thelma, sisters Jacqueline (Terry), Queens Cove, Bonny (Sheldon) Grand Falls-Windsor, brothers Stephen (Angela), Paradise, Bradley (Stephanie), Grand Prairie, niece Megan, 2 nephews Kyle & Jaxson, uncle Lewis Jennings, best friend Trevor Henderson, special friend Ryan Tilley, a large circle of extended family, friends and all her precious fur babies.

In keeping with Trudy's wishes cremation and a private graveside burial has taken place.

"Her Journey 's Just Begun"

Don't think of her as gone away

her journey's just begun,

Life holds so many facets,

this earth is only one.

Just think of her as resting

from the sorrows and the tears

in a place of warmth and comfort

where there are no days and no years.

Think how she must be wishing

that we could know today,

how nothing but our sadness

can really pass away.

And think of her as living

in the hearts of those she touched.

For nothing loved is ever lost,

and she was loved so much.
