Victor Farr Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Victor Farr, aged 75, on Nov 7th, 2024. Beloved husband of Pheobe Farr for 53 years: father to Vicki, Wendy (Jody), Peter (Natasha), pop to Carter, Patrick, Max, Sadie, Katelyn, Samuel, and Lilah.  Dearly missed by sisters-in-law Golda, Dorothy (Boyce), Eileen (Bruce), Sharon (Dennis), and Marie (Fred), as well as Uncles Ewen (Irene), Harley (Ena), aunts Gladys and Jean (Allister). He was predeceased by parents Selby & Doris Farr, parents-in-law George & Mary Head, grandparents Raymond & Elsie Farr, Archibald & Gertrude Mehaney, brother-in-law Cluny Sheppard, uncles Arthur Mehaney and Whylie Farr.

A loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, and friend, Victor was the epitome of love and selflessness, always putting the needs of others before his own.  Known for his loving, paternal spirit, Victor’s greatest joy in life was his family – especially his grandchildren who he adored more than anything.  He cherished every moment spent with them, filling their lives with laughter, stories, and unconditional love.

Victor had a love of life’s simple pleasures.  He loved time spent with family - whether it was boating, fishing, spending time outdoors, tinkering or fixing something around the house, family vacations and get togethers. He had the best extension of an office and was often found parked on the wharf making business calls while looking out over the water.  An avid lover of music he loved listening to old rock and roll or country, but always appreciated a new tune that we’d share.  Victor was also a dedicated businessman whose commitment to both his work and his employees left a lasting impact on all who knew him.  With a strong sense of integrity, and an unwavering work ethic, he built a successful career employing many people in the New World Island area. For over 50 years as an employer, he always prioritized the well-being and development of those around him. His employees weren’t just colleagues, but valued members of a family.  His leadership style was marked by kindness, respect, and a genuine concern for others, making him a mentor and friend to many.  Victor’s legacy will live on- not only in the business he helped shape, but also in the lives of the people he touched with his generosity, guidance, and care.

His memory will forever be cherished by his family who are comforted knowing that his legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will live on in all who knew him.  Victor will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
