Wilfred Curtis

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dad, Wilfred Curtis age 89 years at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander, NL on August 24, 2025 with his family by his side. He was born on October 2, 1935 to Fordie and Violet Curtis. On March 19, 1955 he married the love of his life, Eliza Jenkins. Together they raised 9 children.

He is predeceased by his parents Fordie & Violet, first wife Eliza, children Violet Burt, Goldie Burt, brothers Chesley Curtis, Hayward Scott, sister Hilda and baby sister Pheobe.

Left to mourn are his wife Lillian, children Maxwell (Edith), Vaden (Elsie), Becky (Derrick), Harry (Eva), Llewelyn (Cavell), Selby (Valerie), Betty (Sean), 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, sister Bernice Burt, step-children Llewelyn Pelley, Louise Peckford, as well as a large circle of family and friends.

Dad was a loving father, grandfather and husband. He was a faithful member of his church, holding a position as a board member for many years. Always loved his church family. He is now where he longed to be, in the arms of Jesus.

Resting at the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, Carter’s Cove, NL with public visitation on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
